This is the rather grand name for the path leading from the geranda and herb bed down to the working space and greenhouse. As you walk down it, look to the left for the laughing Buddha in the bushes. There is no spiritual significance to this as we are both athiests. However, the statue is attractive and a laughing character is appropriate to our garden. The plinth he is sitting on is slate floor tiles left over from our son’s kitchen floor.
To the right of the path, the space between it and the fence may seem overgrown but this is another excellent wildlife habitat. Look in the trees for bird boxes. The path is maintained by regular strimming the addition of mulch scrounged from anyone we know who uses Warwickshire County Council’s excellent wood-chipping service.
